2005 Scotty Fire Safety House
The Fire Safety House is a mobile teaching tool used to make
fire safety education more realistic for both children and adults. The Fire
Safety House is an actual structure where we can demonstrate home fire safety in
a realistic setting. Inside are living room, kitchen and bedroom. By the use of
a non-toxic smoke machine we can simulate an actual fire/smoke situation. The
bedroom door has a heating element, which can make it warm to the touch. The
bedroom also has a window and escape ladder that can be used if primary exit is
blocked.
The kitchen/living room area is used to demonstrate both proper and improper
ways to cook and store items. We can also demonstrate calling 911 by the use of
a real phones within the trailer.
Our Fire Safety House also has a Weather Smart Program. By the use of a TV and surround sound stereo system we can demonstrate what it would be like if either a hurricane or tornado were to happen.
